Auditions for the musical, Into the Woods, will be held at Church Hill Theatre on Saturday, January 29 at 2 pm and Tuesday and Sunday, February, 1 and 6, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the theatre. Sylvia Maloney will direct this production with Kevin Thomas as music director, and choreography by Cavin Moore.
This remarkable musical, with its reimagining of fairy tales and how the characters cope with the consequences when their wishes come true, opened on Broadway in November, 1987 with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine.
This production requires 23 actors to bring it to life; men and women, ages teens through 60’s with strong acting and singing skills. We will be casting 13-15 roles as some roles remain cast from the 2020 auditions.
For the vocal audition, please prepare a song, similar in genre to the music of Into the Woods but not from the show; also, please bring 2 copies of your sheet music. Auditioners should be prepared to read from the script and to learn a brief dance routine. Technicians are also needed and are encouraged to attend auditions.
