Join the Kent County Historical Society on August 3rd, 2018 4 pm, at the Bordley History Center, 301 High Street, for their next History Happy Hour.
Airlee Ringgold Johnson and Bill Leary will preview this year’s Legacy Day activities on the weekend of August 17-18, 2019. The program will bring attention to this year’s exhibit at the Bordley History Center, which examines the early years of integration in Kent County schools through the eyes of contemporary students, both black and white.
The exhibit focuses on the years 1964-1973, relying almost exclusively on the recollections of fifteen African American and eight white interviewees. Those recollections ranged from the good to the bad to the downright ugly.
