Chester, MD – See the beauty of Ikebana floral design and learn how to create your own arrangement on May 15th at the Kent Island United Methodist Church at 2739 Cox Neck Road in Chester 21619. The workshop will begin at 10:00 AM and run until 12:30PM. Space is somewhat limited, so anyone interested should apply soon. The fee is $25 and dead line for registration is May 6th 2019.
A student of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana and 1st Vice President of the National Garden Clubs and accredited flower show judge, Anna O’Kelly, will demonstrate this simplistic form of design and work with attendees to produce their own design.
The event is sponsored by the Kent Island Garden Club. The club is a 41 year old membership organization that maintains the gardens at 7 historic properties on Kent Island. KIGC members also support other organizations as they work with individuals to encourage use of native plants in their gardens and to foster environmental awareness.
The $25 check for registration should be made payable to the Kent Island Garden Club and mailed to Mrs. Genie Fitzgerald, P.O. Box 206, Queenstown MD 21658. Please indicate May 15th Workshop on the memo line and bring a pair of clippers.
