Dewey Beach, DE. – Firefighters and children who are burn survivors experience their own rising Phoenix through activities at a very special camp.
Gary’s Dewey Beach Grill and 38̊-75̊ Brewing located at 2000 Delaware 1, Dewey Beach, DE 19971, are helping to raise funds for these survivors. The 5K run and 1 Mile Non-Competitive Walk will be Saturday April 27th. The run and walk will begin at 9:00 AM followed by a fun post-race festival of food, beer for those age 21 and over, Live Music, race awards, kids’ games, as well as the programs offered by firefighters. A silent auction will feature autographed memorabilia from the Philadelphia Phillies, Electric Sunglasses, a GoPro Camera, and more! There’s something for everyone.
The flat run/walk course is USATF certified. It begins and ends on Dagsworthy Street and proceeds to the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and back. Advance registration entrants receive a gender specific tech shirt. Awards go to overall and masters male and female winners. The top three overall male and female finishers in 10-year age groups 13 and under to 70 and over receive awards and top three male and female walkers.
Pre-registration for the run and the walk is $25, students are $20 until April 25 and after the cost is $30 and $25 for students. On the day of the event, registration and packet pickup will begin at 8:00 AM. Those who have pre-registered are invited to a packet pickup party at Gary’s Dewey Beach Grill on Friday, April 26th beginning at 4:30 PM. Come check out the great silent auction items.
