Rehoboth Art League Present a “Salon: From the Artist with the Work of G.W. Thompson”

Classes Sussex

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – The Rehoboth Art League (RAL) will present a “Salon: From the Artist with the Work of G.W. Thompson” on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the artist’s waterfront home in Lewes, Delaware.

If you missed Mr. Thompson’s captivating solo show at the RAL this summer, then this is a great opportunity to peer into the radiant and purposeful world this artist creates. Enjoy an evening at Mr. Thompson’s secluded waterfront home and see how it inspires his abstract work and infuses it with environmental themes. Thompson, who earned a 2019 Emerging Artist Fellowship from the Delaware Division of the Arts, works in a range of mediums that are as varied as the natural world he is exploring – acrylics, oils, pastels, charcoal, inks, collage and assemblage. His paintings and mixed-media pieces attempt to “examine the relationship that humanity has with the environments we live in.” A studio tour compliments the evening’s discussion about the artistic process, and light refreshments will be served.

The event will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased online at rehobothartleague.org or by phone 302.227.8408, extension 203. Space is limited and advance reservations are required.
