Three of the First Eight Correspondents are from Queen Anne’s County Schools
WBFF FOX45 will launch Chick fil-A Kids Correspondents as a bi-monthly morning news feature beginning in November 2024. Kids Correspondents will join FOX45 Morning News anchors and report on news of interest to youth and families.
Sponsored by Baltimore Area Chick fil-A Restaurants, Kids Correspondents was designed to provide an educational hands-on experience to nurture youth interest in communication and journalism. Chick fil-A Kids Correspondents is a year-long project and all students grades 1st through 9th are eligible to be nominated by their teacher.
Nominated by their teachers, the first eight (8) Chick-fil-A correspondents were selected based on their interest in broadcast journalism, scholastic achievements, extracurricular activities and leadership on their school campus and community.
Teachers may nominate students through mid-April. The next round of Kids Correspondents selections will made on January 30 and April 15, 2025.
The Chick fil-A Kids Correspondents appearing on the FOX45 Morning News November 2024 through February 2025 are:
• Allyssa Thattassery of Harper’s Choice Middle School in Howard County. She is an anchor on the school’s news team and reports with enthusiasm adding a personal touch to the newscasts…signing off in a different language each newscast.
• Gavin Gracey of St. Joseph Fullerton Catholic School in Baltimore County. Gavin has a passion for storytelling and was selected as a Scholastic Kids Kid Reporter in 2023. A member of the National Junior Honor Society, he is known as a leader with character.
• Natalie Franco of Centreville Middle School in Queen Anne’s County. A member of the school’s news team and media club, she is member of the National Junior Honor Society and Student Government. Natalie is a sports fan and plays field hockey.
• Alani Jordan of Glenelg Country School in Howard County. She is known for her oratory skills and love of theatre. Alani has a passion for broadcast journalism and was named a Sports Illustrator Kids Kid Reporter.
• Brody Nickle attends Kennard Elementary School in Queen Anne’s County. Described as a “people person”, he excels in academics and sports. He dreams of becoming a sports broadcaster.
• Emilie Lipinski is a student at Our Lady of Hope St Luke School in Baltimore County. She excels academically and is active in her church. Her talents include drumming and speaking Polish. Emilie’s dreams of becoming an astronaut.
• Olivia Coppage attends Queen Anne’s County High School in Queen Anne’s County. Described as an “Eastern Shore Gem” by her teacher, she is full of personality and musical talents. Olivia is a member of her school’s news team.
• Ryleigh Donnelly attends St Joseph Fullerton Catholic School in Baltimore County. A dedicated volunteer with a passion for learning, she puts her heart and soul into everything including sports.
