The funds represent proceeds from the 2018 Elf Classic Yacht Race, which took place on the Miles River at CBMM on Sept. 29. The donation benefits the children and adults served by CBMM’s education, restoration, and exhibition programs.
The CYRG was founded in 1982 to foster the traditions of maritime culture and boatbuilding, particularly those associated with the northeast United States and Chesapeake Bay. The CYRG is currently campaigning the oldest classic yacht still racing in America—the 1888 Elf, as seen in the background—a 30-foot class wooden sailing yacht built by George F. Lawley & Sons in Boston, Mass., which now sails the Chesapeake Bay. For more information, visit cbmm.org or cyrg.org.
