Main Street Gallery has a proud tradition of giving back to the community during their annual “Artful Giving” exhibit. This year, Midshore Meals til Monday, a “backpack” program that sends home nutritious weekend meals and snacks to 350 Dorchester County school children, will be the recipient of the gallery’s giving.

From now until December 15, 2018 Main Street Gallery is raffling off an untitled painting by renowned artist, Danny Doughty. Doughty, who lives and operates a gallery in Onancock, VA, is a well-known and sought after visionary folk artist whose paintings are about the people and places that nurtured him as he grew up in challenging circumstances on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the raffle of his painting will go to Midshore Meals til Monday to help them stock their pantry with the healthy foods they provide for the children.

The drawing for the painting will be at the gallery on December 15, 2018 and you need not be present to win. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the gallery at 518 Poplar Street in Cambridge (tel. 410-330-4659) on Fridays and Saturdays from 11-9 pm. and Sundays from 11-4 and on second Saturday, December 8, from 11-9 or from galley members. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. For more information on Midshore Meals til Monday, or to become a volunteer, go to midshoremealstilmonday.org/volunteer-with-us/
