Sefan Scaggiari Performs Special Holiday Concert Fundraiser at Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts

CENTREVILLE, MD – Internationally renowned jazz and classical pianist and Centreville resident Stefan Scaggiari will perform at a special holiday concert on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts, 206 S. Commerce Street, Centreville.

Co-hosted by Friends of the Queen Anne’s County Library and the Queen Anne’s County, the concert is being presented as a fundraiser. Admission is $20 per person. Light refreshments will be available.

Often dubbed “a musical treasure in our midst,” Stefan Scaggiari is a pianist, composer, arranger, recording artist, and vocalist. He has performed both nationally and internationally as a jazz and classical pianist, including performances at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Baltimore’s ArtScape, the Treaty of Paris in Annapolis, the Calgary Philharmonic, as well as the Annapolis Chorale and Chamber Orchestra among others.

Scaggiari is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and also earned a master’s degree from Peabody Conservatory. He is a former member of the U.S. Marine Band, appearing regularly at the White House, including at Duke Ellington’s 70th birthday party. Scaggiari is well versed in a variety of musical genres equally at home with Ellington and Gershwin as well as Mozart and Rachmaninoff.

“He has played at both the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall and now we are fortunate to have him play for us at the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts,” says Penny Lins, member of the Queen Anne’s County Friends of the Library and one of the event organizers.
