Acrylic painting is a great medium for beginner painters because it dries quickly and is very forgiving. If you are not happy with an area you have painted, you can let it dry and paint right over it in a matter of minutes. The Art League is offering “Acrylic Foundations” on Tuesday afternoons, September 17 through October 8 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Participants will be introduced to composition as well as painting and brush techniques. Color mixing and color theory will also be covered. The cost is $130 for members and $165 for non-members. All supplies are included in the registration fee.

Many people shy away from watercolor painting because they fear that it is too difficult. Watercolor painting can be challenging at first, but it is easy and inexpensive to get started. All you need is paint, water and a brush. You can learn “Watercolor Foundations” on Wednesday afternoons, September 18 through October 9, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Step-by-step, participants will learn about the paints, brushes, and other supplies while doing creative and fun painting exercises. The cost is $130 for members and $165 for non-members. All supplies are included in the registration fee.
