Later that evening and also at the Kent Island Yacht Club, a second fundraiser is planned – a Christmas concert titled, ‘Christmas from my Heart.’ Featuring Broadway singer and performer Stephen Carter-Hicks, this evening of festive holiday music starts at 7 p.m. with a complimentary dessert bar. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and only available at the door.

“We hope the ‘Best Day Ever’ will be a memory that children will have forever, and the concert that follows at 7 p.m. will be a magical holiday evening for adults,” said Elaine Curl, who is a member of the Chesterwye Board of Directors and is leading the fundraising events. “It is great that we will have this fundraising opportunity to support a local nonprofit that is doing such great work for people and families here on the Eastern Shore.”

Proceeds of the event directly benefit the Chesterwye Center, which is an Eastern Shore non-profit for adults with developmental disabilities.

This is the inaugural year for the event. Anyone who cannot attend but would like to donate may do so online at chesterwye.org. Donations are tax-deductible.
