Dewey Beach, DE – For the 18th season, the Highway One Companies and Races2Run are joining together for a healthy summer of great fun, staying in shape, and remarkable camaraderie with visiting runners from around the country and with our local athletes who just love to run. Ten walk/runs are held from May 25th until September 12th at well-known establishments in Dewey Beach, DE.
About the 18th year for 10 Sisters Racing Series- Beginning in 2002 the “Sisters” events have taken place each year in Dewey Beach thanks to the sponsorship of the Highway One Companies. As the Companies expanded, the races expanded from 7 Sisters to 10. Proceeds from the races go to local charities. Races begin on Memorial Day weekend and end with the coveted Gary P. Lister Bottle and Cork 10mile/5 K runs (now in its 44 th year) on the first Saturday after Labor Day.
About the Races- Awards are given at each race. Overall male and female winners receive a $50 gift card. The master’s male and female winners receive a $25 card. Other awards go to winners in five-year age categories from 9 and under to 80 and over. Top walkers are also acknowledged.
There are opportunities for a number of winners! New this year, there will be medals for all finishers of the Dewey Beach Patrol 10K/5K and Bottle and Cork 10 Mile/5K Races. The Dewey Color Run is not a mandatory event. If you are not a runner or walker, a post-race party entry is available for purchase to join in the excitement.
