Delmarva Scenes’ Photo of the Week – Caulk’s Field

Photo of the Week

Caulk's Field Monument

Beginning in the evening of August 30, 1814, Maryland Militia and British Troop meet in battle on Caulk’s Field near the town of Fairlee, then called Bel Air, in Kent County Maryland.

The War of 1812 battle was a victory for the American at a time that a victory was desperately needed. The burning of Washington was earlier in the week.

Photos from the 2014 re-enactment of the battle can be seen on my Website SGAtkinson.com.
