Tropical Storm Isaias prompts Virginia State Parks closures

Parks Virginia's Eastern Shore

In response to the Tropical Storm Warning and in anticipation of high winds and potential flash flooding brought on by Tropical Storm Isaias, Virginia State Parks are closing the following parks effective 5 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2020:

False Cape, Virginia Beach
First Landing, Virginia Beach
Kiptopeke, Cape Charles
Chippokes Plantation, Surry
York River, Williamsburg
Belle Isle, Lancaster
Westmoreland, Westmoreland
Pocahontas, Chesterfield
Lake Anna, Spotsylvania
Caledon, King George
Widewater, Stafford
Leesylvania, Prince William

Decisions to reopen will be made on a park-by-park basis after damage assessments have been completed and only when it is safe to return to operational status.

Overnight guests with reservations affected by the closures will be refunded for any lost portion of their stay. To ensure any guests who wish to can return to their park upon reopening, the issuance of refunds will occur after the event. Affected reservation dates are also eligible for transfer to future stays based on availability.
