It is 1967, a Young Man lies dreaming beneath an old backyard tree (or is it more perilous territory?) His dreams come to life shifting effortlessly from past to present as we see the young man’s life journey, his relationships, his struggles, and ultimately his demise. Summertree is “both a joyous expression of the good things in life and a powerful indictment of war and the senseless waste which it can bring.”

The play will be directed by Aly B. Ettman, a Director, Actor, Producer, and Teaching Artist based in the Washington, DC area. Aly is the founding Producing Artistic Director of Peter’s Alley (www.petersalley.com) a small professional theater company focused on nurturing the craft and careers of emerging artists on and off the stage. She received her theater training primarily in New York City at NYU, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and 5 years of master class studies with Peter Thompson at Michael Howard Studios in NYC, for whom her company is named.
Auditions will be held in the theater and will consist of cold readings from the script.
